A toddler died after drowning in a lake Tuesday in Coconut Creek, police said.
The 23-month-old girl was found unresponsive at around 6:11 p.m. in a lake near her residence in the 4100 block of Cocoplum Circle, according to the Coconut Creek Police Department.
Officers began CPR on the child at the scene before she was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Margate, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The child's death appears to be the result of an accidental drowning, police said.
