- The women told troopers they had just showered and were “air drying” before jumping in their car and taking off.
Three women were arrested after leading troopers on a chase north of Tampa – after initially being spotted naked at a rest area.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrived at the location in Wesley Chapel around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to NBC affiliate WFLA-TV, after a custodian called and said he saw the woman putting on suntan lotion in the nude.
The women told troopers they had just showered and were “air drying” before jumping in their car and taking off, initially going the wrong way before turning northbound on I-75. FHP officials say troopers eventually caught up with the car at a gas station in Pasco County after receiving calls from other motorists.
An arrest report said the driver, identified as 18-year-old Oasis Mcleod, tried to run over a trooper while one of the two passengers charged at troopers with a metal bat before the car took off again.
Troopers and local police used stop sticks to deflate the car’s tires near a local high school, eventually ramming the car and tasering all three people inside – Mcleod along with 19-year-old Jeniyah Mcleod and 19-year-old Cecilia Young – and placing them under arrest.
FHP officials say one trooper received minor injuries during the final incident
