Tropical Storm Eta made landfall in the Florida Keys late Sunday, bringing heavy rains to already flooded city streets after leaving scores of dead and over 100 missing in Mexico and Central America.

NBC 6's Arlene Borenstein is in Marathon, where the brunt of the storm impacted areas that are still recovering from Hurricane Irma over three years ago.

The system's slow speed and heavy rains posed and enormous threat to South Florida, an area already drenched from more than 14 inches of rain last month. Eta could dump an additional 6 to 12 inches, forecasters said.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Miami-Dade and Broward counties, and Flood Warning is in effect for Palm Beach. Storm surge warnings were discontinued early Monday.
