5.2 Earthquake Hits Arizona and New Mexico

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck late Saturday in southeastern Arizona, about 30 miles away from Mexico. Monica McDaniel, a clerk at the Hampton Inn in Lourdsburg, New Mexico told NBC News it was the first earthquake she had ever experienced. "It just felt like all the walls were shaking and trembling," she said. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake was shallow and in a sparsely populated area with no initial reports of damage or injuries.
