Ingredients:
Cheese Sauce
¼ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup all-purpose flour
6 oz. any beer
½ cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp. tabasco
1 tsp. dijon mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar
Steaks
2 rib eye steaks
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. salt
½ cup olive oil
Sandwich
1 cup shaved iceberg lettuce
1 tomato, sliced thin
1 Vidalia onion, sliced thin
4 Italian heroes
Preparation:
Cheese Sauce
- Melt the butter and add the flour to make a roux.
- Add the beer and reduce for 4 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients except for the cheese.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Slowly stir in the cheese and set aside.
Steaks
- Marinade the steaks with all ingredients for 2 hours or longer.
- Grill until medium rare and let it rest for 4 minutes.
- Slice paper-thin.
Sandwich
- Warm the bread on the grill.
- Open and fill with the sliced steak.
- Top with the cheese sauce.
- Garnish with the lettuce, tomato and onion.
- Eat and make sure to do the Philly stance when eating!
