Jenny Sanford Bolts S.C. Gov's Mansion

Efforts to reconcile with cheating hubby hit a snag

So much for falling back in love: South Carolina First lady Jenny Sanford is moving out of the Governor's Mansion, weeks after her husband admitted having an affair with his Argentinian "soulmate."

"I have decided to move back to our home in Charlestonwith our sons for the upcoming school year," Jenny Sanford said in a statement released to the press.

Mark Sanford has ignored calls for his resignation since a bizarre sequence of events that began with his unexplained absence in June. When he resurfaced, he admitted he'd sneaked off to see his Latin lover, and that he had been having a steamy affair with her for more than a year. But he said he had broken it off and hoped to "fall back in love" with the mother of his four sons. Yesterday, he said he still hoped to reconcile.

"I stand by this family decision and accordingly ask the media to honor the zone of privacy that Jenny has asked for on behalf of the healing process and our four boys going forward," Sanford said.
