Hurricanes Release 2015 Football Schedule

The University of Miami released its 2015 football schedule on Thursday morning

The Miami Hurricanes released their 2015 football schedule on Thursday with the first game coming on September 5th.

UM will begin its season against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats at Sun Life Stadium. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series 2-0. The Wildcats represent one of two non-conference opponents that will visit Sun Life Stadium. The other will be the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the third game of the year.

In between those two non-conference games, the Hurricanes will travel to Florida Atlantic University on September 12th. UM has only faced FAU one time and came away victorious in that game.

Miami's bye week will come in the fourth week of the season before a pair of road games at Cincinnati and Florida State. This past year, the Hurricanes battled FSU until the final quarter but ultimately fell. That loss snapped a three-game winning streak for UM at the time.

After the two road games, Miami will head back home for a two-week stretch. Virginia Tech and Clemson will both visit Sun Life Stadium for what will be the sixth and seventh games of the season for UM.

The final five-week stretch of the schedule features three road games. Miami will head to Duke on October 31st and then return to the state to take on North Carolina two weeks later. In between, UM will host Virginia. The schedule will conclude with a home game against Georgia Tech followed by a road tilt in Pittsburgh.

The 2014 season ended on a bad note for the Hurricanes as the school lost its last four games including the Independence Bowl. That last loss came at the hands of the South Carolina Gamecocks in a 24-21 final.

Brad Kaaya did a solid job in his first year leading the Miami offense. The quarterback will return for his sophomore season after throwing 26 touchdown passes in 2014. A key for Kaaya could be the production of Joseph Yearby. With Duke Johnson headed to the NFL, Yearby will step in as the primary running back in 2015. It will be critical that Yearby steps up and takes some pressure off of Kaaya.

In all, the Hurricanes will be taking on nine teams that took part in bowl games this past year. At the same time, UM will be attempting to make its third straight bowl game.
