Bad boy Colin Farrell and his girlfriend - Polish actress Alicja Bachleda - are expecting a baby. "I'm very excited man! Very! There is nothing more exciting really," the actor told People magazine. The baby is the first for Bachleda and the second for Farrell.
It’s been a rebound year for Colin Farrell, who got great reviews for his work in “Crazy Heart” (on the heels of his career-best performance in “In Bruges”), and has been the subject of multiple glowing “Hey, Colin Farrell’s back! And he’s not drunk!” magazine profiles. And now, after nursing his wounds in multiple indie movies, the newly sober Farrell is ready to return to studio movies, including a remake of the horror, um, classic(?) “Fright Night.” From the prolific
I'm told Farrell has just committed to next play a charismatic neighbor/vampire in Fright Night, the Craig Gillespie-directed DreamWorks remake of the 1985 thriller that will also star Anton Yelchin and Toni Collette.
He will follow that by playing one of the title characters in the Seth Gordon-directed New Line comedy Horrible Bosses. He chose those films as he was also being courted for the Katherine Heigl drama One for the Money, and the Reese Witherspoon comedy This Means War at Fox.
Well, let’s all give Colin a big pat on the shoulder for saying no to the Katherine Heigl drama. I think we can safely assume that making that decision alone is proof that Farrell is on much more solid footing these days. As for the movies he picked, I only remember “Fright Night” as a flick my sister rented when I was a kid that I was too scared to dare watch But hey, it has vampires in it, so it’ll probably make $600 million.
Fleming doesn’t elaborate on the plot of “Horrible Bosses,” but here’s a quick IMDB synopsis:
Three friends conspire to murder their awful bosses when they realize they are standing in the way of their happiness.
Murder? Why didn’t I think of that? That’s the best solution ever! No word on whether Farrell will play one of the friends or one of the bosses. I’d prefer he played a boss: a loutish Irish rogue who boozes hard and has a litany of sexual harassment complaints against him. That’s the Colin Farrell I know and love.
