Dye-Covered Bank Robbery Suspect Busted in Wilton Manors

Dye pack explodes on Wilton Manors bank robbery suspect

A Wilton Manors bank robbery suspect was in custody Friday after police say he was pulled over covered in dye.

The unidentified suspect, who's in his 40s, robbed the Iberia Bank at 2465 Wilton Drive around 9 a.m., Wilton Manors Police spokesman Greg Gardner said.

The suspect fled the bank and got into a getaway car which was parked a block away at a mini mart, Gardner said.

Gardner said the suspect sped out of the parking lot and in front of an officer, who happened to be in the area and pulled him over.

Inside the car the suspect had a pile of money and there was red dye everywhere, Gardner said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
