A day after it was discovered that Dr. Omar Brito, the doctor involved in the death of a liposuction patient less than six months ago, was still practicing, state health officials have suspended his license, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

"Dr. Brito Marin demonstrated bad judgment and disregard for the health and welfare of his patient," state Surgeon General Ana Viamonte Ros wrote in the order. Ros went onto state that this "bad judgement" and "disregard" is "likely to recur and presents an immediate danger to the public health, safety or welfare."

Dr. Omar Brito, who is currently under investigation by the Broward Sheriff's Office and the Florida Board of Medicine, was reportedly working for MG Medical Spa in Pembroke Pines and the family of Rohie Kah-Orukotan was not happy the man they felt is responsible for their loved one's death was back in the medical field.

On Monday, the family of Rohie Kah-Orukotan, who family attorneys claim died after an allergic reaction to the drug propofol after a liposuction procedure, served Brito with legal papers, expressing their intent to file a medical malpractice lawsuit for the wrongful death of Kah-Orukotan.

On Sept. 25, Kah-Orukotan went to Weston Med Spa to surgically shed a few pounds. The surgery went wrong and the healthy 37-year-old mother of three went into a coma. She died after the family pulled the plug on life support two weeks later.
