The family of a Virginia man who was shot and killed by police while on vacation in Miami has released a video showing the chaotic moments just after the shooting happened.

The family of Husien Shehada is outraged over the shooting and demanding answers as to why the 29-year-old was killed during an early morning confrontation with police outside a Miami Beach Nightclub.

"I hope justice is served, because it wasn't right and that's all I've got to say about it," said Shehada's brother Samir.

Samir Shehada was with his brother when the shooting occured and was arrested at the scene and charged with domestic battery after cops say he punched and threatened his girlfriend. He was released in time to attend his brother's funeral in Virginia.

Police say they were responding to reports of a man waving a gun in the area when the confrontation with Shehada began. An officer and Shehada exchanged words before the officer opened fire. Medics were unable to revive Shehada at the scene.

The new video shows police officers scrambling to the scene as Shehada lays lifeless on the ground near the intersection of Washington Ave. and 11th Street, right across the street from the Miami Beach Police station.

The Shehada family thinks the shooting may be a result of Arab-American discrimination, with Samir Shehada's girlfriend claiming that she was asked whether Shehada was Arabic or spoke Arabic after the shooting.

The Miami Beach Police Department has not released the name of the officer who pulled the trigger, but said he was put on administrative duty with pay.
