Man Accused of Molesting Children During Swim Lessons: BSO

A Deerfield Beach life guard was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing children during swimming lessons, the Broward County Sheriff's Office says.

According to an arrest report, Francisco Xavier De Aragon II, 27, is accused of touching at least two students in two separate swim lesson sessions at the Deerfield Beach Aquatic Center where he is a life guard and swim instructor.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred during an 11 a.m. and an 11:30 a.m. swim session on Tuesday. The victims are each six years old, the report says.

During the swim lessons, the report claims that De Aragon reached inside the children's swimsuits and touched them inappropriately.

The children, who police say did not know each other prior to the incident, each told their parents what happened on the same day.

De Aragon faces several charges including sexual battery, child molestation and lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12.

He is expected to appear in court Thursday afternoon. Records did not indicate whether De Aragon had hired an attorney.

City officials said De Aragon was a part-time water safety instructor who had been working at the center for just over a month. He has already been fired.
