Two men who burglarized a Pompano Beach elementary school Monday were arrested after a police K-9 unit found them hiding in bushes, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
Anthony Peck, 18, and Demetrius Gibson, 20, were arrested Tuesday and face charges including burglary, grand theft and resisting an officer without violence, according to BSO online jail records.
Gibson is being held without bond for grand theft auto, according to BSO online jail records.
Authorities said the two men used a hammer to break into a window of Cypress Elementary School located at 851 SW 3rd Ave. The pair stole a 46-inch TV, computer monitor, keyboard and DVD player, valued at $2,000 overall, according to authorities.
A K-9 unit that responded to the school’s silent alarm found the suspects hiding in the bushes of a fenced-in backyard of Lyons Park. Deputies said they found some of the stolen items along the way.
