Week 11 Preview: Dolphins at Rams

The Miami Dolphins will be looking for their fifth straight win when they take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

After winning on the road last week, Miami is visiting Los Angeles for the first time in a long time. Coming into their victory in San Diego, the Dolphins were 0-3 on the road this season. A win in Los Angeles would continue a resurgence for the suddenly playoff hopeful Dolphins.

In their first season in Los Angeles, the Rams have a 1-3 record of their own at home. Overall, the Rams are 4-5 and this is a game that Miami may not be able to afford a loss in. The Dolphins have turned their season around, but are still just one loss away from finding themselves back at the .500 mark.

With Mike Pouncey doubtful for Sunday's game, the Dolphins will likely be working with a depleted offensive line. Pouncey's hip has been acting up again and the recent improvements from Ryan Tannehill and Jay Ajayi could fade some. Tannehill has gone four straight weeks without an interception due to the extra time allotted to him. Ajayi meanwhile has eclipsed 100 yards rushing in three straight contests.

Los Angeles has allowed third down conversions 41 percent of the time, which is one potential reason for optimism in Miami. The Dolphins struggled with three and out situations during their 1-4 start to the season. While Miami has improved in that area, it still could use the help at times.

The Rams will also have a new name behind center in this one as they will turn to 2016 first overall pick Jared Goff. After having the lowest scoring offense in the NFL, Los Angeles has elected to bench Case Keenum and go with the rookie quarterback. Goff could find early success in his first ever NFL start after three solid years in college.

Throwing Goff off his game and getting him rattled could help Miami build an early lead. The Dolphins will likely rush the QB more frequently at the start of the contest and look for some early sacks. Letting Goff get into any kind of rhythm would potentially make for a long afternoon.
