Woman Arrested in Baby Shaking Case: BSO

A South Florida woman accused of shaking a 9-month-old baby was behind bars on an aggravated child abuse charge Wednesday, authorities said.

Latasha Gail Hankerson, 31, was arrested Tuesday in North Lauderdale, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit.

Hankerson was being held on $7,500 bond Wednesday. It was unknown if she has an attorney.

According to the affidavit, Hankerson is accused of shaking the baby back in October 2013. The incident "caused great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement" to the child, the affidavit said.
