Florida Rapper That Inspired James Franco's Spring Breakers Character Arrested on Drug Charges

Russell Allen Curry was arrested and charged with selling and possessing marijuana.

The rapper who inspired James Franco's character in the movie Spring Breakers has been arrested on drug charges, reported the Tampa Bay Times.

Russell Allen Curry, 27, was arrested during a police investigation at Lauren Manor Apartments where residents had complained about frequent drug dealing, the Times reported.

Curry was being held on $20,150 bond on charges of selling and possessing marijuana, jail records show.

Franco spent time with Curry, known as Dangeruss, in preparation to play the character named Alien, a rapper and drug dealer who befriends a group of girls in town for spring break, according to the Times.
