Officials say two boating deaths have occurred over two days in the Florida Keys.
The Miami Herald reports that 38-year-old Hector Emmanuel Rodriguez Sr. died Sunday, and 55-year-old Michael Wimer died Monday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says Rodriguez was operating a personal watercraft near Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West when he rode over a larger vessel's wake and fell off. Investigators say Rodriguez returned to shore, where he complained of breathing problems and collapsed. He died on the way to a nearby hospital.
FWC says Wimer had been rowing a smaller boat to his house boat off Islamorada shortly before someone saw him floating face down in the water. FWC officers responded and began CPR. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
