Weather wise, a warmer and humid morning will go away as a front moves in closer to the afternoon keeping high temperatures in the upper 70s before cold temperatures arrive Wednesday morning.

No. 1 - After protesting in Parkland, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School teachers are also planning to attend a school safety meeting this afternoon with Broward County's top education officials. Superintendent Robert Runcie will be joined by security experts from safe havens to give input on how to improve the county's schools.

No. 2 - Police in Miami-Dade are investigating a shooting in Opa-locka that left a pregnant mother dead and her 13-year-old daughter wounded. They were shot while they were sitting in a car and the shooter is still on the run.

No. 3 - Authorities say they linked more deaths to Hurricane Michael, raising the state's toll to 43. Two more deaths were confirmed in Bay County on Monday raising the total there to 23.

No. 4 - Broward County's mayor will deliver the 2018 state of the county address today. After the address, the commission will elect a new mayor and vice mayor for 2019. This is all expected to start at 10 am in the county commission chambers.

No. 5 - The Humane Society of Broward County will open a pop-up shop on Las Olas Boulevard today. It features a variety of merchandise for your pet and will be open every day from 11 am to 9 pm.

No. 6 - The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood is celebrating the opening of its new cafe and casino expansion today with a guitar smash ceremony. These are the first areas to open as part of the $1.5 billion dollar expansion of the hotel.
