No Injuries Reported After Fort Lauderdale Beach Scaffolding Collapse

A scaffolding collapse is being investigated at a Fort Lauderdale Beach construction site after an accident Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the Paramount Fort Lauderdale off North Atlantic Blvd. just before 12:30 PM. The building is an oceanfront luxury condominium with a pool toward the front. It appears the scaffolding collapse happened in the pool area.

Plenty of people heard the loud crash. "Like a railroad train coming through your apartment," Allan Rexinger described. Frank Panetta was at the beach at the time of the collapse. " All of sudden we turned around and heard this boom. Like glass and everything breaking," said Panetta.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The city's building inspector will asses the damage to determine the cause for the collapse.
