Sunday Forecast Brought Heavy Rain and Wind

Strong storms are expected to move into South Florida Sunday evening, bringing gusty winds and frequent lightning.

The window of the evening for the most active weather will fall between 8pm and 12 midnight. In that time, heavy downpours are possible, accompanied by wind gusts that may reach 40-50 mph.

Currently there are no weather watches in effect around South Florida.

Should any severe weather alerts be issued, they will be pushed on the NBC6 app. You can click here to download it.

Storms are being kicked off ahead of a cold front that will arrive overnight, cooling overnight low temperatures down into the 60s for the next few nights and ushering in less humid air.
