Suspect Accused of Killing Mom and Daughter, Shooting Coconut Creek Officer to Face Premeditated Murder Charges

Jason Dale Roseman, 44, faces two premeditated murder charges, two charges of criminal attempt/solicitation/conspiracy of a capital felony and a probation violation charge

The man accused of shooting a Coconut Creek Police Department officer in a gruesome incident at a quiet neighborhood is facing premeditated murder charges for allegedly killing two people - a mother and her daughter.

Jason Dale Roseman, 44, faces two premeditated murder charges, two charges of criminal attempt/solicitation/conspiracy of a capital felony and a probation violation charge.

He was not in bond court Sunday and could appear in front of a judge as early as Monday.

Roseman is accused of firing at the vehicle of a police officer who was responding to a domestic violence report with a shotgun.

The officer, 30-year-old Andrew Renna, suffered a punctured lung but is expected to recover. Officials said he was in stable condition at Broward Health North on Monday.

CCPD Chief Butch Arnel said Roseman dropped his shotgun and surrendered after numerous police officers approached him at an intersection.

Inside the home where the domestic violence report originated - and where Roseman once lived according to police - a multi-agency SWAT team found one dead person, a dead pit bull, rifles and a "prop" explosive device, according to Arnel.

Outside the home, one woman was found dead on a driveway next door, while another man was found in critical condition on the driveway of another home.

Officials identified the victims as 44-year-old Jan Kirland and her daughter, 20-year-old Hannah Bonta. Kirland's fiance told NBC 6 that the third victim is Bonta's boyfriend, 21-year-old Craig Newman, but that has not been confirmed by police.

Friends said Newman remained in intensive care Monday.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Bonta was a 2017 graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, but police would not confirm that information to NBC 6.
