Police have launched a death investigation after a body was found Wednesday in a quiet, residential area of North Miami.
The body was found at around 1 p.m. near Northeast 3rd Court and 135th Street, according to North Miami police. Residents said a man was found bound and shot in the head.
“The body was basically laying by the dumpster and the arms tied, his face to the side and basically blood all down his face and on his arms," said Melissa Rigby, who lives nearby.
Investigators zeroed in on a parking lot of the Northview Terrace apartments and questioned nearby residents and businesses.
Detectives have not identified the body as of Thursday afternoon.
“He just laying there lifeless, that’s sad," Rigby said.
It's unclear how long the body was at the scene. It's also unknown if the man died there or if his body was taken there and left behind.
