Local DJ Gets 22 Years in Prison in Coral Gables Crash That Killed 2

A local DJ convicted on DUI manslaughter charges in a crash that killed two people in Coral Gables was sentenced to 22 years behind bars Monday.

Ervens Prudent, 29, was found guilty in October in the June 9, 2013 crash that killed 44-year-old Maria Martinez and 34-year-old Marlon Gutierrez.

In addition to his prison sentence, Prudent will serve four years' probation. He was facing a maximum of 30 years behind bars.

According to police, Prudent rear-ended another car that had stopped at a traffic light on Southwest 8th Street and Douglas Road. Martinez and Gutierrez, who were in that car, were killed at the scene. Prudent was also injured in the crash.

Prudent is known as DJ A.O.L. in his North Miami community where is a producer and songwriter.
