Rescue crews arrived at the scene near 1320 Southeast 4th Court around 1:30 a.m. after people inside the home called for help.
Over two dozen firefighters worked to put out the blaze inside the single story home, finding one person inside a bedroom where the fire started. That person was taken to Broward Health North Hospital in serious condition with what BSO Fire Rescue officials say are life threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported and the Florida State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
