Video showed a fuel tanker truck engulfed in flames after a crash and explosion on the Florida's Turnpike in Palm Beach County Friday morning.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike north of Boynton Beach Boulevard, close to Lake Worth and Boynton Beach.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue officials said the impact of the crash split the tanker open. It was carrying about 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel and 7,500 gallons of gasoline.
A plume of black smoke could be seen from far away as the fuel burned.

The driver of the semi was able to escape unharmed, officials said.
Dozens of firefighters responded and 18 trucks were at the scene.
All northbound and southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed while crews battled the fire.
