The South Florida teen convicted in the brutal attack on Josie Ratley was sentenced Monday to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years probation.
Wayne Treacy, 18, will serve the first three years at at a juvenile facility. At 21, he will enter a facility for youthful offenders, and later he will be transferred to a regular prison. He will also get intensive mental health treatment.
Treacy was convicted in July of attempted first-degree murder in the 2010 attack on Ratley.

Police said Treacy sought out Ratley, who was 15 at the time, after she sent him text messages about his older brother, Michael, who had recently committed suicide. Prosecutors said he punched, kicked and stomped her head with steel-toed construction boots at a bus stop outside Deerfield Beach Middle School.
Ratley suffered severe brain damage in the attack and spent over 40 days at the pediatric intensive care unit at Broward General Medical Center.
Attorneys made an insanity claim for Treacy, arguing that he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and was not in control of what he was doing at the time.
