Across South Florida, the ride sharing service Uber has been a game changer for thousands of people – but for country music star Keith Urban, it saved the day this weekend in getting to his scheduled performance in West Palm Beach.

During his concert Sunday night that was shot by NBC affiliate WPTV, Urban told the crowd that he wasn’t able to land at Palm Beach International Airport due to severe storms in the area and were diverted all the way down to Miami International Airport – which wasn’t allowing him or his band to get off their plane due to lightning strikes in the area.

"So, we were like, we aren't going to make it to the gig, at all, what do we do? We freakin' Ubered there, is what we did,” Urban told the crowd to a loud cheering response.

Urban said his driver, named Echevarria, maneuvered the approximately 65 miles to the concert site in West Palm Beach at over 100 miles per hour to get the singer and his band to the show on time.

"102 [mph], 103 [mph], this guy is my hero right now," says Urban.

Eventually, Urban and his band arrived and closed out the four-day event along the Intercostal Waterway.
