Police Search for 2 Suspects in North Miami Beach Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

The men forced the woman into the back of her white car and drove her to a location where she was sexually assaulted by multiple people, police said.

Police released a composite sketch Tuesday of one of the two men they say kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman in North Miami Beach last week.

Police also released surveillance video which shows the men coming out of shrubs on the night of the incident, with one suspect pointing a gun at the woman, who is off-screen.

The victim was picking up food from a restaurant at 1026 North Miami Beach Blvd. close to midnight on Thursday when she was approached by two men wearing black gloves and wielding handguns, according to North Miami Beach Police.

The men forced her into the back of her white car and drove to the Oak Grove Area in North Miami-Dade where she was sexually assaulted by multiple people, officials said. They then drove her around various locations in North Miami-Dade and North Miami Beach including fast food restaurants and gas stations before dropping the victim off by her home, according to police.

Detectives think a Toyota minivan also seen leaving the scene was carrying men involved in the crime, police said.

"We're taking this case very seriously and we've put all of our resources into it," North Miami Beach Police spokesman Sgt. Richard Rand said. "We have our undercover guys helping us out. We need to identify these two guys. These two guys are extremely dangerous."

Residents were surprised to hear about the incident in what they say is a usually quiet neighborhood.

"I've been here 20 years, nothing like that happened before," said resident Raymond Garcia.

Customers leaving a restaurant in the area were frightened.

"I'm afraid. I'm scared. I'm not coming back here anymore. You don't know whose safe and whose not safe," said Charlene Adelson.

The Crime Stoppers cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case has been raised to $3,000, police said.

Detectives urge anyone with information to come forward by contacting Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers anonymously at 305-471-TIPS (8477) or reaching North Miami Beach Detective N. Morrison at 305-949-5500.
