Man Faces Human Trafficking Charges: Cops

Authorities are asking anyone who information about Donald Purviance to contact them

A man was arrested and faces multiple charges after he offered $750 in exchange for sex with a 14-year-old boy and a man who he thought was his father, authorities said Monday.

Donald W. Purviance, 46, of Orlando, faces charges including solicitation of a parent, human trafficking, soliciting the procurement of a minor for prostitution and attempted lewd and lascivious battery, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

Authorities began investigating him after an anonymous tip last year, while he still lived in Biscayne Park. He moved to Orlando in September 2012 and in February, he allegedly solicited an undercover agent, who he thought was the boy’s father, the FDLE said.

Authorities said there may be more victims, so anyone with information about Purviance should call 786-336-1000 or local law enforcement.

He is in jail in Sumter County. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
