Weather wise, hot temperatures start the work week before a front arrives Tuesday – bringing rain before cooler temperatures enter the forecast starting Wednesday.

No. 1 - A man and 10-year-old child were shot in the parking lot of a Dave & Buster's entertainment center in Hollywood, according to police.

The shooting at the Dave & Buster's located on 3000 Oakwood Boulevard occurred Saturday night, the Hollywood Police Department said. The man, who was pronounced dead Saturday evening, was identified as 30-year-old Jeancharles Freddie. Officials say the victims are not related.

No. 2 - A morning accident involving a Miami Police Department vehicle sent that officer to the hospital and caused plenty of traffic problems early Monday.

The crash occurred on U.S. 1 near Riviera Drive in Coral Gables, where the police cruiser collided with another vehicle. Officers say the driver of an SUV fled the scene at first but came back and is speaking with investigators. The officer involved suffered a wrist injury and was taken to a nearby hospital, but is expected to be okay.

No. 3 - The trial against North Miami Police officer Jonathan Aledda begins today. Aledda is accused of shooting an unarmed behavioral therapist back in 2016. He is facing attempted manslaughter and negligence.

No. 4 - A tornado roared into southeast Alabama and killed at least 23 people and injured several others Sunday, part of a severe storm system that caused catastrophic damage and unleashed other tornadoes around the Southeast.

Drones flying overheard equipped with heat-seeking devices had scanned the area for survivors but the dangerous conditions halted the search late Sunday.

No. 5 - The man accused of driving drunk and killing a South Florida woman will appear in court today. Leonardo Morciego crashed into Rachel Foster back in 2016 as she and her boyfriend were broken down on the side of the Palmetto Expressway.

The story regained headlines earlier this week when Foster’s young daughter was killed in Texas, allegedly by the child’s father.

No. 6 - Janice Freeman, who competed on season 13 of NBC's "The Voice" in 2017, has died at age 33.

The singer, who was on coach Miley Cyrus's team and reached the top 11 on the singing contest series, passed away on Saturday at her home in Pasadena, California after suffering a medical emergency.
