The Miami Dolphins and Twitter are starting to look like a bad mix after Don Jones joined the crowd of controversial players on Saturday.

Jones, a linebacker for Miami tweeted twice shortly after Michael Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams. Those tweets which have since been deleted by Jones had the words "OMG" and "horrible" in them, according to ESPN. Draft coverage showed Sam kissing his boyfriend and Jones' tweets followed soon after that moment.

Sam is the first openly gay player in the National Football League after being selected by the Rams. When Sam announced he was a homosexual, there was support around the league for his decision. The Dolphins had several players show their backing for Sam as well at the time.

Miami was mired in a bullying scandal for much of the 2013 season that centered on Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin. Also embroiled in that saga was Mike Pouncey who stirred up controversy recently on Twitter before deactivating his account. The last thing the Dolphins likely want is more controversy as they begin to prepare for next season.

"I was made aware of it and I was disappointed in those comments. That's not what we stand for as an organization. The draft weekend is a culmination for so many players, their lifetime achievement of their dream to achieve a goal for Michael Sam and all the other players," general manager Dennis Hickey told ESPN in regards to Jones' tweets.

Thus far, Jones has kept his Twitter account active unlike Pouncey. According to the report, the Dolphins plan to sit down with Jones soon and discuss this situation.
