Pembroke Pines Police respond to Silver Trail Middle School after a teacher received an email threat.

Authorities searched a Pembroke Pines school Thursday morning after a teacher received an email threat including the words "blowing up the school," officials said.

The threat was received by a teacher at Silver Trail Middle School at 18300 Sheridan Street Wednesday night from an unknown source, Pembroke Pines Police said.

The email was identical to one sent earlier in the year and to the same recipient, police said. That incident, which happened in April, also led to a search.

As a precautionary measure, the school was searched early Thursday and nothing suspicious was found. Students were requested to not bring a book bag or backpack to school Thursday, officials said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
