Both Daniel and David Bogan are leaders in the Guitars Over Guns Organization – referred to as GOGO – at Georgia Jones-Ayers Middle School. GOGO provides a comprehensive arts-based mentoring program at select Miami-Dade County schools with students receiving a myriad of artistic, musical connections and experiences as they learn to read and write music, play instruments and perform on stage and in a recording studio.
The Bogans family has not had a car for the past several years, leading to being dependent on friends, public buses and ride sharing apps like Uber for transportation. Their mother, Travilia, is incredibly active in her children's lives, and supports their education and musical growth wholeheartedly, working hard to provide for them and encourage all of her boys to stay committed to their schoolwork. However, the single mother's income is currently limited due to injuries that she and the boys sustained from a serious car accident over the summer while in someone else’s car.
NBC6's Kristin Sanchez joined the Marlins’ Lewis Brinson to help return some much needed independence to a single mom doing all the right things to be a role model and support system for her family.
