The Miami Dolphins opened the 2013 season with a win on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Ryan Tannehill completed 24 of 38 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown as Miami topped Cleveland 23-10.

While Tannehill and the passing game thrived, Miami's running game was nonexistent. Lamar Miller gained just 3 yards on 10 carries, while backup Daniel Thomas had 14 on 8 carries. As a team the Dolphins averaged 0.9 yards per rush.

Dimitri Patterson intercepted two passes in the first half, giving Dolphins cornerbacks as many interceptions in one game (3) as they had a season ago.

Despite those three interceptions, Miami found itself down 7-6 at halftime when Cleveland tight end Jordan Cameron hauled in this touchdown pass from Weeden with 28 seconds left in the second quarter.

The Dolphins' defensive line spent most of the afternoon wreaking havoc in the backfield. Here Cameron Wake records one of his 2.5 sacks (the team had 6 total).

Browns RB Trent Richardson ran for 47 yards on 10 carries. Though he was effective early, Cleveland relied heavily on the pass (Weeden attempted 53 passes on the day).

Brian Hartline gave the Dolphins back the lead with a 34-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. He led all Dolphins with 9 receptions for 114 yards, while new pickup Brandon Gibson caught 7 passes for 77 yards.

Miami made it a ten-point lead in the fourth quarter on this touchdown run from Daniel Thomas. Rookie kicker Caleb Sturgis would add a field goal (his third of the game) later in the quarter to cap the scoring.
