A Disney Cruise Line crew member from Indonesia is behind bars after he was charged with molesting a 13-year-old girl, authorities said.
Ahmed Sofyan, 36, was taken into custody Thursday after the Disney Dream Cruise Ship docked at Port Canaveral. He was transferred to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office Jail, where he was being held without bond Friday.
Sofyan, of Indonesia, is charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of false imprisonment. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
A statement from Disney Cruise Line said the incident happened while the ship was at the port, and that they are assisting in the investigation.
Sofyan has been fired by the company.
"We have no tolerance whatsoever for the behavior alleged in this incident," said Karl Holz, President of Disney Cruise Line. "We are sorry that anything of this nature could have occurred on one of our ships. We place enormous value on the trust our guests have in us, and nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of each and every one of our guests."
